Return of the Macca

If you’re an utter mental and not a fan of The Beatles then the next 10 years will be a right pain in the b-hind for you. Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of The Beatles first single, and for the rest of the decade expect to see many many more '50 years since' celebrations; first album, first time they went to the US, first time they took LSD, first time they ate a cheese & pickle bap etc.

Its just been announced that next year will also see the release of a brand new album from the Big Macca himself, Sir Paul McCartney. Talking to Rolling Stone about the new covers album, Macca said; ‘It's my dad's style of music. I've wanted to do that kind of thing forever, since The Beatles days. But then Rod went mad on it. I thought, 'I have to wait so it doesn't look like I'm trying to do a Rod. The album is ‘Get-home-from-work music’.’

Adding; ‘They're just songs I admire. I'm trying to steer away from the obvious ones. It's get-home-from-work music. You put it on and get a glass of wine.’

As long as you’re not covering later day Rod Stewart songs, we really don’t mind.
