Rihanna mixes it up with Brown again

Rihanna and her abusive ex Chris Brown seem to have reached an amicable rapprochement. That’s the only conclusion we can draw from Brown’s surprise cameo appearance on Rihanna’s remixed version of Birthday Cake.

The track has been previewed online. Brown doesn’t exactly ooze regret and charm on his contributions. In fact, he announces his presence with a very blunt, "Girl, I wanna f*** you right now". The remainder of his verses maintain the adult-only mood.

Brown is still on probation for his attack on Rihanna on the evening of the 2009 Grammy Awards. He was sentenced to 5 years probation and 6 months community service. On February 10, a US court rejected an application for his probation term to be curtailed, but it seems that Rihanna might be more forgiving.

Last year, Rihanna was the first to make moves towards reconciliation with some generous comments about Brown in an interview with Esquire. "Disliking him was taking up too much of my time," she told the magazine. "It was too much anger. I'm really excited to see the breakthrough he's had in his career.

"It's incredible to see how he pulled out the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he's putting out. I'm a fan of his stuff. I've always been a fan. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have."

Brown obviously reciprocates, even if he expresses his admiration in rather more blunt terms.
