Robbie reignites battle with Oasis

Back in the hey day of Britpop, when Robbie Williams was a cheeky young pup in Take That and Oasis were nothing more than a pair of mouthy Northern tykes, the two of them used to be besty mates, often rolling out of hip and trendy nightspots trolled off their knackers. Somewhere down the line though, they fell out.

Robbie was soon christened by Noel Gallagher as ‘the fat dancer from Take That’ and Liam Gallagher and Robbie were all set for a punch-up live on telly. Since then both parties appear to have mellowed, but for some unknown reason (a new album to plug???) Robbie has attempted to reignite the feud.

"Originally I thought they'd inevitably get back together because they are the band,” said the fat dancer from Take That about Oasis to The Sun. “But reading between the lines, they're both really stubborn so I don't think they will. To be honest, I know there's history between us and this isn't very complimentary, but they've been doing a lap of honour for the past 13 years. There's been the occasional gem here and there, 'The Importance Of Being Idle', and, well, that's about it."

Been doing a lap of honour for the past 13 years? Has Mr Williams missed the irony here?
