Robbie Williams announces details of new album

Robbie Williams has announced details of his "comeback album" which is set for release in October. 'Reality Killed the Video Star' will be the former Take That singer's eighth solo studio album and his first since 2006's Rudebox.

The album was recorded in London by the famed producer Trevor Horn, the man behind Buggles, who has worked with artists as diverse as David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Eurythmics, Paul McCartney and Grace Jones.

Williams has been on unofficial hiatus for the last three years spending his time in California growing a Rip Van Winkle beard while hunting for UFOs. Meanwhile the singer saw his former band mates in Take That reform and release a platinum album 'The Circus'.

Rudebox was panned by the fans and critics alike but 'Reality Killed the Video Star' could be a return to form with Williams teaming back up with longtime collaborator Guy Chambers. The new album hits the shelves on 9 November.
