Rock revival back on

Panic briefly spread through the webosphere last night after Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose announced on his Twitter account that 'All upcoming Guns N' Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds.'

Needless to say, this didn't go down well with people who'd shelled out £140 to attend the Reading and Leeds festivals in two weeks, in no small part to see the rock legends perform.

But - rejoice, rock fans! For now, the NME is reporting that G'n'R are, in fact, playing Reading & Leeds. The tweet is being blamed on that old chestnut, a hacked Twitter account.

So, relax! Except that, well, the tweet is still there. Rose and his record company haven't deleted it, or even added another saying the shows aren't cancelled. We're happy to take the NME's word for it, but we'll be much happier once we know for sure.
