Sad News

Well, this is sad. Yesterday news broke that Trish Keenan, singer of Birmingham indie band Broadcast, was severely ill with what was thought to be H1N1 virus, a.k.a. swine flu. Today, the news came through that she has died.

It seems to have been pneumonia that finally claimed the singer, who became sick two weeks ago during an Australian tour.

Broadcast released three albums, 2000's The Noise Made By People, 2003's HaHa Sound, and 2005's Tender Buttons. Their most recent record, 2009's Broadcast and The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age, was a collaboration with design group The Focus Group. Keenan was 43.
