Seth MacFarlane to release album

We love Family Guy. Even if South Park totally slaughtered the whole basis of the show by deconstructing they way it tells its jokes (it’s all down to a huge Manatee, people), we just can’t get enough of Quahog’s funniest family. Well actually, it’s got more to do with Quagmire and his crazy hypersexuality, more than anything else. Giggity.

Anyway, in a fairly odd turn of events, Family Guy creator Seth MacFarland has signed a record deal with Universal Republic Records to release an album of Broadway numbers of the 40s and 50s. We’ve certainly never heard any of them before, and we’re sure a professional comedian and television writer will bring something new to the table. Right?

‘It's rare in this day and age to have the opportunity to create an album that celebrates the classic, sophisticated sound of rich, lush swing orchestrations,’ said MacFarlane. ‘It will be an absolute joy to sing this music, and I look forward to working with the entire team at Universal Republic on what we intend to make an exceptional project.’
