Shakira's ex boyfriend Antonio de la Rua, son of Argentina's former president, has been denied access to one of the popstar's bank accounts in the latest round of an ongoing legal battle involving courts in different nations. De La Rua's claim alleged that he was shortchanged by Shakira (real name Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll) after the two kept on working together following their 2011 break-up, but as he couldn't prove they had a professional agreement, it was rejected by a court in Geneva.

However, De la Rua has also filed multi-million lawsuits in both Los Angeles and New York, claiming that Shakira's success wasn't just down to a stroke of luck, but it was the result of a business partnership in which he was the "principal architect of her management team and business plan that set Shakira on the path to lasting financial success." A partnership that, according to him, was maintained after the split and for which she still owned him over $250m.

On the other hand, the 'Waka Waka' singer insists that no oral agreement was reached between her and De la Rua after they decided to terminate their romantic relationship, and that there is no outstanding business to finalize. Shakira declared to TMZ that she can prove De la Rua is lying as she has kept some of his emails where he clearly stated "I am not a partner in any of your companies. You are the sole owner of all of them."

The Colombian pop star has been dating Barcelona footballer Gerard Piqué for the past couple of years, and she had recently given birth to their first son, Milan. Shakira is currently signed with Jay-Z's entertainment company, Roc Nation.
