Slash blames Axl Rose for reunion farce

Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash lifted his top hat and unveiled a few more details of the band's off-on plans to reunite for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony. Slash, predictably, blames singer Axl Rose for the ongoing acrimony.

Slash told Rolling Stone that he would love to play the show on April 14 in Cleveland, inserting the requisite swear word for emphasis. "This is a subject I'm dead sick of talking about," he said, proceeding to talk about it quite happily.

"Everyone has been asking me what's going to happen, and they know as much as I do. I feel you're totally obligated to be present and I would love to f***ing play, but it's just something that's not going to happen for whatever reason."

"Whatever reason" is mostly the continued emnity between Slash and Rose. Seems Rose is not in any danger of softening his attitude towards his former guitarist. "He hates my guts," Slash said. "It's over a lot of different stuff; I don't even know. There's just no communication between us. I talk to Duff McKagan and Steven Adler, but when it comes to old Guns N' Roses, there really isn't anybody that makes decisions."

Guns N' Roses, in whatever form they show up as, will be inducted into the Hall of Frame by Green Day, whose biggest hit, American Idiot, might have a pertinent lyrical message for Slash and Rose.

Slash releases his solo album Apocalyptic Love on May 21 and plays London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo on June 6, 2 days before he plays the Download festival.
