Slashing great killjoy

His best days of rocking may be behind him, but Saul Hudson, a.k.a. Slash, still knows how to get headlines. The former Guns 'n' Roses guitarist has revealed he has prevented any of his songs being sung on hit show Glee.

The singer was keen to emphasise that this killjoyish behaviour doesn't make him a Victor Meldrew-like curmudgeon. He says he tries 'to be more positive than negative' about popular culture, but that 'I draw the line at Glee. Glee is worse than Grease and Grease is bad enough.'

Boo! Rock stars are such snobs. We'd rather listen to the winning teens of Glee than boring old Guns 'n' Roses any day, but the combination of the two would have been pretty sweet. Perhaps one day old Slashie will repent, and we'd be able to hear Mercedes' epic take on 'November Rain.'
