Snoop Dogg and Rita Ora stranded on a desert island

Asked to speculate which celebrity would stay chilled when stranded on a desert island, you’d probably be fairly quick at coming up with the name of Snoop Dogg, or Snoop Lion as the reggaefied rapper likes to be known these days. You’d calculate that the man has so many mellow chemicals floating around his system that few things would get him agitated.

Rita Ora can testify that the Snoop is not a man to panic. The pair were involved in the celeb version of being stranded on a desert island in Thailand in January, while shooting a video. The producers were either clueless or had indulged in some of Snoop’s favourite herbal relaxants and hadn’t counted on the tide going out. "The boat couldn’t come to the shore and we couldn’t get off the island," Ora said.

"Everyone had left except me, Snoop, my sister, the camera guy and the lighting guy." Ora reacted like a squealing diva of course. "I was like, 'Are we ever going to get off alive?'" You wonder what kind of civilisation Ora, Snoop and a camera crew could have created if left to their own devices for a few years. It’s a reality show waiting to happen.

Shockingly, unforgiveably, Ora had to walk through some mud and pebbles to get off the island. "We had to wade through the sea to the boat," she said, still obviously disturbed by the experience. "I don’t know what was touching my toes! Slithery things, stones. I was holding Snoop’s hand and he was squeezing it so tight I lost all circulation. It was hilarious." Well, guess you had to be there.

Ora is currently on her Radioactive tour of the UK, where she has delighted fans with a variety of costumes including a skin-tight leather bodice, what looks like a tinfoil space suit and a Georgian ballgown.
