Die hard fans of the Spice Girls will be getting very excited this week after Mel C hinted that a reunion could be in the pipeline. Mel C's former bandmates Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham all appear keen on hitting the road together again which is half the battle.

The girls already have a hugely successful reunion tour under their belt back in 2007 but have not been together on stage that often since. The group's last performance came at the 2012 London Olympic Games and for many fans that seemed like it was going to be the beginning of another reunion. However, the performance was a one-off and the girls have not performed together in the intervening years.

Mel C was doing an interview with the Mirror when she reminded everyone that the 20th anniversary of the bands inception is coming up shortly. She said "It’s the 20th anniversary in two years so we will have to celebrate it in some way." The one stumbling block to a full on reunion tour seems to be Victoria Beckham's schedule which is pretty much full all the time. If that could be overcome then the rest would fall into place pretty quickly.

Only last month, Baby Spice Emma Bunton went on record for being all for getting the band back together saying "I love the fact that people are still wanting another Spice Girl tour. We’re always emailing and chatting about it. I love working with the girls and I know Mel B spoke about it recently. I have to admit doing the Olympics was a little taster for me."

In other Spice Girl related news, Geri Halliwell announced her engagement to Formula 1 Redbull team principal manager Christopher Horner. The pair went all out in sharing the news by taking out an ad in the Times newspaper. The announcement read "The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs G.M. Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr L.F. Halliwell and Mrs A. Parkinson".
