Supergroup mash-up

Remember rock supergroups? They were all the rage in the 70s and 80s. You could barely walk five minutes without bumping into the Travelling Wilburys hawking out their lift music to anyone who can stand to listen. Eventually they went away, because everyone realised that they were vanity projects, and just plain rubbish to boot.

Well now they’re back. Jack White is forever starting one group or another in an effort to rid him of his sister’s terrible drumming, and now Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, Josh Holme of Queens of the Stone Age and John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin are getting in on the retro action, calling their group Them Crooked Vultures.

If you want to check them out, They’ve got a website (see below) and (of course) a Twitter page, and the trio are apparently playing at the Metro in Chicago on Sunday. But if you don’t happen to be in the Illinois area, don’t worry, an album and UK shows are being planned.
