Ta Rob

After beating off stiff competition from the likes of Biffy Clyro, The xx, Gorillaz and Mumford And Sons to win the British Group award at the Brits, Take That paid tribute to prodigal son Robbie Williams for his role in the group’s triumph.

On stage, singer Jason Orange admitted the band were ‘sheepish’ about collecting awards, while bandmate Mark Owen commented: ‘Rob, thanks for coming back mate, appreciate it.’

How much more mileage the band can squeeze out of the saga of the repentant Robbie returning to the fold is unclear – though they’re obviously keen to milk it as much as possible.

The band scooped the gong after being nominated three times previously. Earlier on, they opened the ceremony at the London O2 Arena by playing their latest single, Kidz.
