The Internet is over

It must have been obvious to anyone who knows anything about Prince’s career that it’s probably a good idea to ignore everything he says and just concentrate on his music, which really isn’t bad at all. The latest example of his complete detachment with reality is his quote that he thinks the ‘internet is over’.

This interesting point of view appears to have been formed by the fact the internet gives him precious little money, and that computers and that are a bad thing, for reasons that we still haven’t worked out in our heads. Numbers are bad, apparently.

‘The internet's completely over,’ he said in a strange interview with The Mirror. ‘I don't see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won't pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can't get it.

‘The internet's like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you.’
