The Libertines play surprise reunion gig

Fans of the Libertines went home happy last night when three of the band's original members played an impromptu gig at the London Rhythm Factory. It was the first time that the Libertines had played together since 2004.

Pete Doherty had already played with his band Babyshambles before being joined on stage by Libertines drummer Gary Powell, singer/guitarist Carl Barat with Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell completing the line-up.

The four piece took to the stage in the early hours of the morning and played a storming six song set including classics such as 'What A Waster', 'Up The Bracket', 'What Katy Did', 'Can't Stand Me Now', 'Time For Heroes' and 'Death On The Stairs'. The Libertines are set to play a number of reunion shows in the summer.
