Thriller 'sucked'

Michael Jackson has claimed that the original mixes of Thriller ‘sucked’ so bad that he thought about sacking legendary producer Quincy Jones; until he went to a school to watch some children play, after which he was ‘ready to rule the world’.

The quotes come from an interview from the early 80s which was thought to be lost forever, but was discovered separately from the interview with Rabbi Schmuley Boteach, in which he declared Hitler to be a genius.

'Thriller sounded so crap. The mixes sucked,’ he said. ‘When we listened to the whole album, there were tears... I just cried like a baby. I stormed out of the room and said, “We're not releasing this. Call CBS and tell them they are NOT getting this album. We are NOT releasing this.”'

The King of Pop decided to take some time out from the grind of recording by nicking a bicycle and riding up to a school to watch some kids at play, focusing his mind on the task ahead, no doubt.

‘One of the maintenance crew in the studio had a bicycle and so I took it and rode up to the schoolyard,’ he said. ‘I just watched the children play. When I came back I was ready to rule the world. I went into the studio and I turned them songs out.’ Quincy Jones is no doubt biting his tongue very hard indeed as you read this.
