U2 start work on new album

Veteran Irish rockers U2 are reported to have started work on their 750th album according to EW.com. The news comes less than a year after they released their last long player 'No Line On The Horizon'.

'We are working on a lot of new songs,' U2 guitarist The Edge told EW.com. 'Some of them are really, really happy. We're convinced that we have something really special.'

The axeman revealed that the Dublin band have been writing new material during the downtime from their current world tour: 'We are experimenting with a lot of different arrangements, and electronic is one of the things we are playing with,' The Edge said. 'But there are other songs that are very traditional, almost folk. In some ways, that's the thing we haven't figured out yet, is where this album is going to end up.'
