UK Charts

The Rolling Stones have been together for an incredible 50 years but clearly there was still gas on the old tank after their seminal long player ‘Exile On Main Street’ became the UK’s number one album on Sunday, 38 years after it was first released.

Mick Jagger and co’s heavy interview schedule to help plug the re-release of ‘Exile On...’ has obviously paid off, giving them their first top of the pops album since 1994. And with their resurgence there’s now talk that the rock OAPs will perform it live and in its entirety later this year.

It was also good news for another old skool act - although not quite in the same league - Faithless, whose album ‘The Dance’ managed to sneak into 2nd spot. Meanwhile, over in the singles chart newbies B.o.B were no doubt chuffed to bits after they secured their first ever British number one with ‘Nothing On You’.
