UK Charts

So Adele, wonderful though she is, starting to get on our nerves a bit: the girl just won’t leave the top of the album charts, causing us all sorts of problems when it comes to writing our weekly appraisal. Just what on earth can we say about the girl whose now spent 10 whole weeks in top spot, the first artists to do so since Dire Straits’ Brothers In Arms took up residence in the same place way back in 1986. She’s sold 250,000 copies of 21 in one week, a 65 per cent week-on-week increase, while her debut 19 is also still sat snuggled up in second place. Madness.

However we do at least have some movement in the singles realm, with Jennifer Lopez racking up her third UK number one with ‘On The Floor’, her collaboration with Pitbull. It even pushed Tottenham’s finest off pole position. Meanwhile the Black Eyed Peas awful cover of ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ seems to be slipping down the table. Thank the lord for that, eh?
