Walking on thin ice

Among Beatles fans, opinions differ on Yoko Ono. Some believe that despite her love for John, she was a negative influence in his life and in large part responsible for the Beatles' falling-out. Others don't think she loved him at all.

Well, we couldn't possibly comment, but if she wanted to prove to the world that Lennon was mostly a cashpoint to her, she could do worse than sell his private correspondence for £500,000. Which is, of course, what she's now done.

The buyer is Orion Books, a London publisher. They'll be compiling a book from them to be released in 2012. According to Orion, they're 'funny, sad and very human.' What, not walrus?
