We're getting old

Stalwarts of British pop Supergrass have decided to call time on their time together as a band, citing a ’17-year itch’ and the old classic ‘creative differences as the reason behind their split. The band burst onto the scene in 1995 with their debut album ‘I Should Coco’ and jaunty piano number ‘Alright’, and released six albums together as a group ('In It For The Money' is also a very good pop album, fact fans).

The group are playing four farewell shows in the UK and France, which we would recommend you get along to, should you have the cash, as they’re certain to plough through their rather large collection of hits. And they always seemed like nice chaps to boot. The schedule, and a sample of what they're like live, is below.

‘Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the years,’ said the group in a statement. ‘We still love each other but, cliché notwithstanding, musical differences have led to us moving on and of course we all wish each other well in the future.’

  • Glasgow Barrowland (June 8)
