Winners & losers galore at The Brit Awards 2009
The inaugural meeting of the best of British blaggers convened at Earl’s Court last night for The Brit Awards 2009.
The night lived up to the hype (yes, it was that awful) and the winner of the evening was Welsh wizard Duffy, picking up 3 awards including Best Album.
Coldplay were the nearly men walking away with only 4 nominations and no tacky statuettes.
The shabby ceremony saw a strong line-up of performances from; U2 (Get On Yer Boots), Girls Aloud (The Promise), Coldplay (Viva La Vida), The Ting Tings & Estelle (Shut Up & Let Me Go / American Boy / That’s Not My Name), Duffy (Warwick Avenue), Kings Of Leon (Use Somebody), Take That (The Greatest Day) and The Pet Shop Boys feat. Brandon Flowers & Lady Gaga (Outstanding Contribution medley).
All of which was held together as loosely as a Smash Hits Poll Winners Party by struggling hosts James Cordon, Matt Horne and Kylie Minogue.
The winners were;
