X-Factor ISN'T number 1!

Peter Kay’s Animated All Star Band has broken Simon Cowell's domination of the UK charts (for one week, at least) with ‘The official BBC Children In Need Medley’.

The novelty song for charidee went straight to the top spot, dislodging the X-Factor contestants' cover of Michael Jackson’s ‘You Are Not Alone’ after only one week at number 1.

It was still all smiles for Cowell & co though with Susan Boyle’s debut album ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ selling over 400,000 copies to take the number 1 slot in the albums chart, making 7 of the top 5 albums and singles all performing on this series of The X-Factor.

On the plus side, Mariah Carey’s performance on the karaoke contest last week appears to have done her no favours: her new single only just made the top 20, debuting at No.19.
